About Us

Youth Care Africa

Youth Care Africa is a youth-serving organization that works with young people and communities to expand access to knowledge, services, opportunities and support systems that improve their well-being and life outcomes.

Our work is centered around Education, Sexual & Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Sanitation and Hygiene, Skills Development, Gender Justice & Advocacy, and Climate Action. We implement practical, community-based initiatives that respond to real needs, including increasing access to youth-friendly reproductive health services, supporting education and skills development, promoting gender equality, creating livelihood opportunities, and strengthening climate resilience.

We work with young people, schools, communities, health-care providers, local leaders, and other stakeholders to develop and implement practical solutions that respond to community needs. Our programs create opportunities for young people to access knowledge, build skills, participate in meaningful initiatives, and contribute to positive change in their communities.

Our Priority Areas

Basic Education & Learning

We provide affordable, accessible, and quality education and learning services for adolescents and young people. Through the Youth Care Academy and our education programs, we make learning opportunities and educational resources more accessible while supporting learners to improve their academic performance, develop practical skills, and make informed decisions about their future.

Our services include affordable online lessons, books and study materials, examination preparation resources, learning workbooks, teacher capacity building and professional development, career guidance, digital skills training, practical skills training, life skills and leadership development, and education-focused training and consultancy for schools and organizations. Our goal is to provide flexible and practical learning opportunities that equip young people with the knowledge, skills, confidence, and competencies they need to succeed in education, employment, entrepreneurship, and life.

Sexual & Reproductive Health

We provide affordable and accessible sexual and reproductive health (SRH) products, information, and services designed to help adolescents and young people make informed decisions and protect their health and well-being. We focus on reducing barriers to essential SRH resources while creating safe, youth-friendly opportunities to access reliable information and support.

Our services and products include condoms, lubricants, sanitary pads and other menstrual hygiene products, HIV self-testing kits, SRH information materials, menstrual health education, HIV and STI prevention education, teenage pregnancy prevention, family planning information and referrals, and healthy relationships and consent education. We also conduct community health outreaches, youth SRH awareness sessions, and linkages and referrals to appropriate health facilities and qualified health professionals, ensuring that young people who require professional care can access the right services.

Sanitation & Hygiene

We promote sanitation and hygiene by producing and increasing access to affordable, quality hygiene products for households, schools, institutions, and communities. Through the Soap Making Project, we produce a range of products including liquid soap, bar soap, handwashing soap, detergents, and other essential cleaning and hygiene products. We aim to make these products readily available and affordable while promoting proper handwashing, cleanliness, safe sanitation practices, and healthy living environments.

The project also creates income-generating opportunities for young people by involving them in the production, packaging, marketing, distribution, and sale of soap and other hygiene products. Young people can sell these products within their communities and supply households, schools, and institutions, earning income while helping expand access to essential hygiene products.

Vocational Training

We provide affordable, hands-on practical skills training designed to equip adolescents and young people with skills they can apply in their daily lives, education, employment, and entrepreneurial activities. Our training focuses on practical learning in areas such as tailoring and dressmaking, hairdressing and beauty, baking and catering, beadwork and jewellery making, soap and detergent making, digital skills, graphic design, photography and videography, and entrepreneurship.

Through demonstrations, practice sessions, and real-life projects, participants gain practical experience and confidence to use their skills productively. We also integrate financial literacy, business management, marketing, communication, and career readiness to help young people turn their skills into employment, freelancing, or small business opportunities.
